Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PDFMasala ("PDFMasala", "we", "us") handles information when you use the website at pdfmasala.com (the "Service"), how cookies and advertising work on it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
- Your documents are processed in your own browser and are never uploaded to our servers.
- We do not ask you to create an account and we do not sell your personal information.
- The Service is free and is supported by advertising from Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
2. Your documents
All PDF tools (editing, merging, splitting, compressing, converting, renaming, translating and text recognition) run inside your web browser. The files you open stay on your device. We cannot see, store, copy or share their contents. Translation uses the translator built into your browser, and text recognition (OCR) runs on your device.
3. Information collected automatically
When you visit, the following may be processed:
- Log data: our hosting and network providers record technical information such as IP address, browser type and version, device type, pages requested, and date and time. This is used to deliver the Service, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
- Advertising data: Google and its partners may collect or receive information such as your IP address, cookie identifiers, device identifiers, and information about your visits to this and other websites, to show and measure ads (see section 5).
We do not combine this information with your documents, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and web beacons. They are used on the Service as follows:
- Strictly necessary: local storage keeps your cookie choice and, for the current tab, the tool you last used. These do not track you and cannot be switched off.
- Advertising: cookies set by Google and its advertising partners, used to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and, with your permission, personalise ads.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense, a service of Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, to show ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices, or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
If you choose not to receive personalised ads, you will still see ads. They are then based on general information such as the page you are viewing and your approximate location, and cookies may still be used for limiting ad frequency, measurement and fraud prevention.
6. Your consent and choices
- Cookie notice: on your first visit you can choose Accept all (personalised ads) or Only necessary (non-personalised ads). You can change this at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of the home page.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: we ask for your consent before cookies are used for advertising, through a consent message provided by Google that follows the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time through Cookie settings.
- Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. The tools keep working, but your cookie choice may be asked again.
7. How we use information, and the legal bases
- To provide and secure the Service (our legitimate interests in running a working, safe website).
- To show ads that pay for the Service (your consent where the law requires it; otherwise our legitimate interests).
- To comply with legal obligations.
8. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with service providers that help run the Service:
- Hosting and network providers (such as Netlify and Cloudflare) that deliver the website.
- Google AdSense, for advertising as described above.
- Google Fonts and public content delivery networks, which deliver fonts and open-source libraries and receive a normal web request (including your IP address), never your documents.
We may also disclose information if required by law. These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States, under their own safeguards.
9. Data retention
We do not keep your documents. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it. Log data is kept by our providers for a limited time under their own policies. Advertising cookies expire as set by Google, and you can delete them at any time.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR): you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
- California and other US states: you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To opt out, choose Only necessary in Cookie settings or use Ads Settings. We do not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Because we keep no accounts and no documents, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help remove it.
12. Security
The Service is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Because your documents never leave your device, they are not exposed to our servers. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
13. Links to other websites
Ads and links may take you to websites we do not control. Their own privacy policies apply.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be made clear on the Service.
