Why PDFMasala Never Uploads Your Files

Open the PDF tools →

Most online PDF converters work by uploading your file to their servers, processing it there and sending the result back. For a holiday photo that may not matter. For a bank statement, ID card, medical report or contract, it means a copy of your private document sits on someone else's computer. PDFMasala works differently.

How in-browser processing works

Modern web browsers are powerful enough to run complete programs. When you open PDFMasala, the tools are loaded into your browser like any web page. When you then choose a file, the browser reads it straight from your device and the tool processes it right there: merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing, renaming, even translating and reading scanned text. The finished file is handed back to you for download. At no point is the document sent to a PDFMasala server.

What this means for you

What does reach the internet

Being transparent matters, so here is what does travel over the network: the website itself (pages, scripts and fonts) when you load it, the language packs your browser downloads the first time you translate, and the ads that keep PDFMasala free. How cookies and ads work is explained in our Privacy Policy.

How to check it yourself

Open a tool, choose a file and then switch off your internet connection. Most tools keep working, because the work is done by your own device.
