Numbers locked in a PDF are slow to work with. PDF to Excel puts them into cells, so you can sort, filter and total them. It works well for bank statements, invoices, price lists and reports.

Convert PDF to Excel, step by step

Open PDF to Excel and choose your PDF. The page appears on the left.
Pick a mode in the panel on the right: Default or OCR based.
Pick the sheets: one sheet per page, or all in one sheet.
Press Convert and check the Excel preview next to the original.
Press Download to save the .xlsx file.

Which mode should I choose?

Default: quick and plain. The tables and text go into cells without colours. Best when you only need the numbers.
OCR based (crown icon): the sheet is laid out like the PDF page, with its lines, shading and spacing. Best when the look matters.

Tips

Amounts are stored as real numbers, so SUM and AVERAGE work straight away.
A PDF stores text positions, not tables. A table with uneven spacing can need a small tidy-up in Excel.
Scanned pages are read with text recognition and can need more tidying than a normal PDF.
